
Elaine is currently the 5:30 co-anchor at the NBC affiliate in Albany, New York. She is also the education reporter and has spent the past 18 years reporting on students and teachers in the capital region. Along with Elaine’s passion for her job is her commitment to her community. She has received numerous community awards, including several from former New York Governor, George Pataki, as well as the recognition of “Elaine Houston Day,” bestowed on her by the mayor of Albany. This inspiring book, created to raise funds for a village of women in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, features letters from women, in their own words, on the value of their relationships with their girlfriends. In its second printing, the book covers the lives of women struggling with everything from breast cancer, to the loss of a parent, to the struggle of being a female in prison.
